Workshop: Wearable Vessels in Polymer
Techniques:
Small wearable containers have been created throughout history by many cultures to hold personal tokens or talisman. We are intrigued by Inros and secret keepers which carry some precious object
close to your heart. This class will explore different base forms from found objects to manmade shapes and learn a variety of construction techniques for stacked and lidded vessels plus cording
and embellishing possibilities. We'll move very quickly and you can expect to leave class with a base form and a plan for your finished piece.
Specific materials required - participants must bring
Sheets of preconditioned clay in colors you love
an assortment of usable canes ( Cannes déjà prêtes)
mokumé slabs (Echantillons de mukumé)
skinner blends (Quelques skinners prêts à utiliser)
Liquid polymer (fimo liquide)
embellishments, cord, beads, items to incorporate into finished piece (apprêts, cordons, perles pour décorer, finissions les pièces)
